ABOUT THE BOOK:
Are you trying your hardest to be a better you, but still feel like it’s not enough? Looking for fulfillment, but stuck with an empty cup? Struggling to communicate and connect with others? Do you question who you are?
Constantly contorting yourself into prescribed molds of who you think you are supposed to be is an exhausting reality author Jennifer Layer is deeply familiar with. In this book, she untangles the sticky web of people pleasing patterns she cultivated throughout her life that she thought kept her safe and loved, only to find out they silently tore her apart and left her empty.
Whether you’re a textbook people pleaser or just struggle with filling your own cup, this book provides companionship and tools to help you manage your emotions, actions, and thoughts, so you can create a more peaceful and balanced relationship with yourself and the world around you.
You’re not as alone as you think. Let’s grow together, shall we?
“This book is an absolute blessing to those who need help understanding who they are. I already have a number of people (and patients) in mind whom I want to gift a copy to because they need to hear it.”
“Holy cow! I am at a loss for words. I resonated so deeply with what she has gone through and am inspired by her strength and bravery. This book has helped improve my own self-awareness, but also allowed me to see myself in such a more loving way.”
“I read it three times. Every time I read it, I love it even more. Jennifer is so relatable, funny, yet able to tackle really hard topics in a way that really speaks to the readers. I can’t wait for the next book.”
Often found in her Texas home typing away for her day job as a Marketing Coordinator and her night hustle as a writer, Jennifer Layer is constantly chasing dreams and bringing everyone she can along for the ride to a more peaceful, graceful, and fulfilling life.
When she’s not working (or napping), the young author can be found climbing the sandstone cliffs in Utah, lost somewhere in the Appalachian forest with her dog, enjoying some yoga in the humid Houston summer with her friends, or training for her next ridiculous athletic race. She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Communication Studies from Southwestern University and is currently getting her masters degree in Social Work from the University of Houston.
